NESTOR DELGADO EARNS MASTER PRECASTER CERTIFICATION

Nestor A. Delgado earned his Master Precaster certification during the National Precast Concrete Association‘s 2023 The Precast Show held this year in Columbus, OH. Nestor received a plaque and gold safety helmet during the awards luncheon on Thursday, February 23rd.

The NPCA’s Master Precaster certification program is an intensive course of studies and hands on experience designed for professionals in the precast concrete industry. Participants complete in-person and virtual education on production, safety, technical, quality control and leadership. The program was developed in conjunction with precast industry experts, producers, departments of transportation and academia and is part of NPCA’s Precast University.

Based in Carmel, Ind., the NPCA has represented manufacturers of industrial plant-produced precast concrete products and the suppliers of products and services for the industry since 1965, providing members with the programs and information required to operate a successful precast plant. NPCA operates the industry’s largest and most comprehensive plant certification program, which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute.

Monarch’s President, John Tyler, had the following to say about Nestor’s achievement:

“Nestor has distinguished himself by completing the NPCA’s Master Precaster curriculum in a little less than two years, which is a record for the company and speaks to the drive and focus on Excellence which Nestor brings to Monarch Precast. Nestor started with Monarch as a Production Technician and quickly earned the respect of his peers and supervisor. When we had an opening in our Quality Control organization, Nestor threw his hat in the ring. I must admit to being skeptical during the interview process about his chances for success taking on such a demanding leadership role within our team. And just to show how wrong I was, I recently promoted Nestor to head up the company’s entire Quality Control organization with two, experienced QC techs reporting directly to him. Nestor now sits on the company’s management team along with the leaders for Sales, Production, Engineering and Finance. In three years, Nestor has gone from hourly production to helping us run the entire company. He is already putting his own mark on the position with several innovative, initiatives that have helped us gain traction in areas we struggled with for years. Nestor clearly brought a lot of experience and skills with him to the role, but I do think the NPCA’s formal certification program gave Nestor the technical foundation and confidence he needed to completely fill out the role he is in.”
